Soo, my cheap, good sounding and chinese fretless bass is for sale, yo.

Here's the pitch.

Harley Benton HBB500FLTBK 5 string fretless electric bass a.k.a. Ginger Benton Wong

- basswood body
- maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, without fret markers
- active electronics/2 band EQ
- saddle width: 46mm
- scale length: 86cm
- 1x JB pick-up and 1x MM pick-up
- die-cast machine heads
- chrome hardware
- transparent black finish
- made in China :D

I bought it for 169 euro plus shipping, and am selling it for 100 Euro.
However I'm willing to trade it for a Korg Nanopad + Korg Nanokontrol, or other interesting midi controllers or pads, NOT keyboards.

Reasons for selling it
- I suck at it
- I don't really use it
- don't have time to learn to play on it
- need midi controllers for the absurdcus live act :D

The bass was bought in 2008, from Thomann , it's in neat condition, normal wear and tear (see pics) that you'd expect from a used instrument.
Slight scuffs on the fretboard mostly because of the (roundwound)B string, nothing a little TLC won't cure.
The fingerboard has been regularly cleaned with lemon oil, body and neck also cleaned with guitar polish.

One thing that you should know is that I've received the bass with a horrible setup, so I've taken measures and put 6 coins between the neck and the body (see pics), lifting the neck, lowering the action. Now, some might consider this a defect, I'd say it's a definite upgrade because the bass plays and implicitly sounds way better than before. Plus if you're ever in dire need of change...



Here's a video of it with some quick soundsamples. Bass recorded through my Demeter Opto Compulator pedal directly into the soundcard, no post EQ whatsoever.
It has the same strings it came with from the factory, I just boiled them about a month ago. Don't know about you, but I'd say the bass sounds pretty decent.
